Yūkyū Gensōkyoku 3: Perpetual Blue

Lucid Atley is a recent graduate from the Security Academy who has joined the Security Bureau in the coastal city of Sheepcrest. He had hoped for an assignment to the prestigious First Investigation Division, but after an aptitude test revealed rare latent magical abilities, he ends up instead assigned to the Fourth Division "Blue Feather", which is dedicated to investigating supernatural crimes. However, with magic culture on the decline, there are almost no cases to investigate. Yūkyū Gensōkyoku 3: Perpetual Blue is the third and final main entry in the Yūkyū Gensōkyoku series, and is once again a simulation adventure game where the player must train a team of adventurers while also maintaining their interpersonal relationships. While the general system is similar to the previous games, divided between training and adventure segments, there have been many changes to how the game functions. During training phases, the player directly controls Lucid to explore headquarters and speak with their team members, with their interactions determining how character abilities and relationships grow; only Lucid's training schedule can be determined by the player, with other team members each deciding their own schedules. During the adventure sequences, combat has been reworked from a traditional command menu into a system with each action assigned to a specific button, with timed inputs allowing for higher-level attacks.
