Taikyoku Shōgi: Kiwame is a digital conversion of the traditional Japanese board game shogi for one or two players, and the first console release in the Kiwame series of computer Shogi games. It features many standard features: Standard play against the computer at five different skill levels or against another player, the ability to save records of matches to review later, full-board setup options to practice various scenarios, and a Tsumeshogi mode in which the player is shown a particular board setup and must figure out how to checkmate the opponent's king within a specified number of moves, with 300 problems in total.
