Shōgi: Joryū Meijinisen is a digital conversion of the traditional Japanese board game shogi, which provides a record of the 21st annual Women's Meijin title tournament in 1995. It includes full replays with commentary of every match from the tournament, with special attention given to the best-of-five title match between Ichiyo Shimizu and Hiroe Nakai. There are also interviews with four of the competitors, a series of shogi lessons to teach various play concepts, and profiles of each of the competitors and commentators. There is also the option to play a game of shogi against either a computer opponent at one of six skill levels, or a second player. Completed games can be saved to the memory card and played back to review.
