MX 5000

MX 5000 is a military themed 2D vertical scrolling shoot 'em up game in which you take control of a jet fighter. The game start with your homebase being bombed and you going in pursuit of the bomber. As you make progress and fight off various aircrafts, helicopters, static guns, tanks and bosses power-ups come available. The aircraft has separate weapons for flying and ground-based units with two destruction meters on top of the screen keeping track of both. When a meter is full a power up will appear for the associated weapon, each having two upgrades. For air a single and twin laser, and for ground a triple and quintuple laser. Ground based enemies can also earn you a speed power-up (max three times). You can play solo or with a friend in alternating turns.
