Motoko-chan no Wonder Kitchen is essentially an advergame. Production of the game was limited to 10,000 copies, and a copy was obtained by mailing in two proof of purchase from Ajinomoto mayonnaise. A girl named Motoko teaches the player about food history, particularly that of mayonnaise. She takes the player through a fantasy world containing minigames. Such minigames include a game of reversi/othello against a witch and a game of hide and seek with seven dwarves who can turn into sausages. The game also includes a virtual kitchen with various food items such as tomatoes and tuna, and utensils and tools such as spoons, knives, an oven, and a microwave. The player will sometimes find recipes, and will have to journey through the world to collect ingredients, and then prepare the food.
