Light Fantasy Gaiden: Nyanyan ga Nyan

Nyanyan is a kind-hearted cat girl who will do whatever she can to help out those in need. With her coming-of-age ceremony approaching soon, she sets off to search for a crystal ball which is said to grant any wish, so that she may complete the ceremony and be recognized as an adult. Nyanyan ga Nyan is a spinoff of the Light Fantasy series, featuring a cast of the cat characters from the main series. Unlike the main titles, it is a much more standard JRPG-style game, with fixed party members and basic turn-based combat a-la Dragon Quest. Nyanyan does not gain experience and level up; rather her abilities can be changed by aquiring and wearing different types of clothing and accessories, which will also change her appearance. Healing items also take the form of food, which can cause Nyanyan to lose or gain weight, which in turn will affect which clothing options are available. The game includes a branching storyline depending on the player's actions, which can lead to one of several different endings.
