Bass Tsuri ni Ikō! ("Let's Go Bassfishing!") is a cartoon-style bass fishing game which includes three different game modes: Story Mode tasks the player with competing in a series of increasingly-difficult tournaments across each of the locations and a variety of seasons, using their earnings to buy and upgrade their gear and lures. Free Fishing Mode lets the player freely choose their location, season, and equipment and fish for fun or practice. Fish View Mode is a unique game mode where the player instead controls the fish, and must avoid biting the lure and being caught. The player can choose to play as either a boy (Ichiro) or girl (Kei) character; the boy has greater strength, while the girl is better at line control and starts with more money. A unique aspect of the game compared to other fishing games is that rather than choosing fishing spots from a map or list, the player directly controls their character in full 3D, and can stop and cast their line from any point. The game includes three different fully-3D locations to fish at, with multiple seasonal variations of each.
