Memorial Song is a visual novel adventure game. The protagonist, whose name is entered by the player, is a high-school student. This game is trying to show how a song can awaken the memories of the past and tie them together. The story opens as you listen to a song on a CD and start reminiscing events from the past... and of course, all the girls you met. The game consists mostly of reading the on-screen text with occasional choices that branch the story. The game progresses as a set of memories with a calendar marking each event on a day it occurred, usually selected by the player. Unlike in many other visual novels, the on-screen text cannot be removed to display the clear background and character. Also, message history is not displayed as a separate log, but more like going backwards through the text as it appeared on the screen, with the text being in a different color to indicate it is not the current story. The game also features unlockable CG artwork which can be accessed from the main menu.
