Gaia Master: Kamigami no Board Game is a virtual board game with many similarities to Monopoly. Up to four players roll the dice to move along the board, which is divided into squares. Most squares are property squares, in which property can be bought using Zenny. Other squares have different effects: Event squares give you event cards which you can use at any time (with exceptions), route squares change the movement direction, tax squares which remove a certain amount of zenny when passed, warp squares which teleport you across the board, the tavern square which will make you play a dice-based mini-game to earn combat cards, and combat squares which gives the player the choice to engage in turn-based combat with another player using the combat cards they have. Passing Go will give the player zenny, HP, combat cards and event cards. In addition to building properties to make others pay rent, the player can set up stores on their property squares. Stores give the player extra cards and HP, as well as status effects. The location of combat (if selected) also effects the player's status: presence of stores and properties will give the attacker an HP advantage, although this can be reduced by paying zenny. As mentioned, combat is turn based and consists of three rounds. Players can use one item card per round and one combat card per battle. The player with the fastest selected combat card attacks first, in case of a tie, the defender attacks first. If the player's HP is reduced to zero or is lower than the opponent's HP, they lose the battle. Sometimes, one of the players are chosen as "Lucky" by the game. If a player is Lucky, their character's special ability is unlocked. Some characters have abilities that help during combat while others have abilities pertaining to the board.
