Field & Stream: Total Outdoorsman Challenge is a hunting simulation developed in association with the outdoor media brand Field & Stream. The game aims to recreate realistic hunting scenarios through a first-person perspective. The game places players in a variety of outdoor environments set in North America where they track and hunt more than 30 species of animals, including both land and aerial game. Gameplay emphasizes traditional hunting techniques such as following tracks, listening for animal calls, and accounting for environmental factors like wind and weather. A system referred to as Scent Vision assists players in locating animals by highlighting trails and movement cues. Players can also use tools such as decoys, animal scents, and fixed hunting positions like blinds and vantage points to improve their chances of success. There are multiple gameplay modes. Practice Mode introduces shooting mechanics through activities such as skeet shooting. Free Hunt Mode allows unrestricted hunting without in-game regulations, while Ultimate Hunt Mode provides a more structured and challenging experience that requires players to apply tracking and stalking techniques under simulated hunting conditions. The game incorporates dynamic wildlife behavior and changing weather conditions.
