Battle High: Elemental Revolt is a one-on-one fighting game. The plot takes place in a high school specially designed to help teenagers with elemental powers cope with their abilities. The hero of the story, Jiro Ozawa, heads up an attempt to stop his brother Shinji, who is the leader of The Rivals gang. Other plot threads deal with Arvid Romm, a self-titled superhero, attempting to defeat the monstrous Beast of Hall 22 (Bryan Regis Harrisworth III), and Ryken Volynski getting revenge on Shinji's bodyguard Christopher "Heavyweight" Morgann for his loss of his arm and his father. The gameplay is standard 2D fighting game fare. Special moves are referred to as Elemental Specials and fall into a specific category depending on the character's attribute: Wind, Fire, Water, Earth, or Lightning. These types however do not affect gameplay directly. Elemental Supers are stronger attacks that drain the Elemental Bar. Dash Canceling and air dashing can also be utilized, and takes some of the Elemental Bar to perform. The game modes consist of an arcade mode, versus mode, a training mode, and "Extracurriculars" - bonus games.
