Advanced Daisenryaku: Europe no Arashi - Deutsch Dengeki Sakusen is the first game in the Advanced Daisenryaku series released for the Dreamcast. It is a WWII turn-based strategy game where the player commands Nazi troops as they conquer Europe, beginning in 1935. The player moves ground, naval and aerial units across a hex based map to fight enemy troops and achieve military objectives, such as capturing towns or cities. The player must capture towns and cities to increase the amount of funds they receive, which can be used to purchase resources such as ammunition. Various weather conditions such as rain or clouds must be considered as they can affect the abilities of troops in battle. Fog of war must also be considered, as it obscures the view of enemy soldiers on the map. Units can obtain experience and upgrade over time. The game features a campaign mode as well as a scenario mode where the player can play individual battles from the campaign mode and modify the settings. The game is also able to connect to the internet for various purposes such as downloading additional scenarios.
